15:29 despised him in her heart. See note on II Samuel 6:14. Michal was Saul’s daughter, originally given to David by her father, then later taken back by him and given to Phaltiel, then still later taken back forcibly from Phaltiel by David (I Samuel 18:27; 25:44; and II Samuel 3:14,15). All of this had apparently cooled Michal’s love for David even before she found his dancing objectionable. David rebuked her for this attitude and evidently had no further marital relations with her (he had many other wives) and she never had any children.
